McLaren Formula One driver Lando Norris recently picked his two best races of the rollercoaster 2023 season.
At the beginning of the 2023 season, Lando Norris might not have expected to be in the position he is today, with 1 third place and six second-place finishes.
The number 4 driver came super close to getting his first Grand Prix win on multiple occassions during the 2023, but the luck was not on his side. The Mclaren driver told the media:
"In the last six or seven races, I've had six P2's and all of them behind Max. Anytime out of those times, something might have gone wrong [for Max] we were in the perfect position."
While the British driver still waits for his first victory in F1, it really seem to be only a matter of time before he gets it as he continues to deliver incredible performances. When asked to name his best races, Norris said:
"Brazil was one of my best races. In terms of gap to everyone else, we had just one car ahead. Mexico was a very good race, so I think I've definitely been my best in terms of performance."
The race in Sao Paulo was when Norris came the closest to snatching the win from the triple World Champion. He came close to overtaking Verstappen during the race, but could not make the move stick.
Nevertheless, he the McLaren driver showed incredible pace that exceeded everybody's expectations. In Mexico City, Norris finished only in P5, but his team principal said it was one of the best races he has ever been part of.
Norris started the race in Mexico from P17, and despite multiple obstacles on his way, like avoiding crashes and high tire degradation, he overtook his teammate, who started from 10 positions higher, to get the final P5.
Would you agree these were the best races for Lando Norris in 2024? Or would you pick a different race, like the British Grand Prix, where he led the race for a couple of laps?
