McLaren F1 driver
Lando Norris elaborated on the injury he suffered during a party in Amsterdam ahead of the 2024
Miami Grand Prix weekend.
All McLaren and Lando Norris fans had a bit of a scare at the end of last week when pictures of the 24-year-old with bloody bandages around their face flooded social media.
The McLaren F1 driver, with a couple of his friends, including the famous DJ Martin Garrix, headed to Amsterdam for the Koningsdag (King's Day).
Videos of Norris dancing with his crew on a boat floating through Amsterdam canals describe just how much fun everyone was having.
However,
the British F1 driver then suffered an injury. Judging from the pictures shared on social media, it looked awful initially, but it was later clarified that the 24-year-old was completely fine.
Speaking to the media ahead of the second sprint race of the 2024 season at
Miami International Autodrome, Norris discussed the injury:
"I've got a lot of friends, so it was a good weekend, but already the next morning, I flew straight to Miami."
"It was just a bit of broken glass, and obviously looks a lot worse than it is, and everyone thought it was horrendous, but it's just a little cut."
The McLaren F1 driver defended himself, saying that he will have fun with his friends if he has the opportunity.
Someone who might not have been so happy about it would be McLaren bosses, who can't afford to lose their star driver due to a silly party injury.
Fortunately, everything seems to be fine, and the Norris will 100% participate in this week's race weekend. He added:
"I wish it was a cooler story, but if I can spend some days with my friends, then I am going to enjoy it."
"People made a bigger deal out of it than it was, it was just a little cut but I am not embarrassed, I'm not trying to hide it."
