Red Bull Racing team principal
Christian Horner praised his driver,
Max Verstappen, for incredible achievements at such a young age.
One of Max Verstappen's advantages is that he started in Formula One when he was only 17 years old. In fact, the Dutchman holds a record for being the youngest driver to ever race in F1.
Starting so early was very challenging on the one hand. On the other hand, Verstappen is now 26 years old and already has 185 race entries and nine seasons of experience under his belt.
Moreover, in a matter of these nine seasons, Verstappen already won three World Championships, achieved 54 Grand Prix Victories, and 98 podiums, and showed the World arguably the most dominant season F1 has ever seen.
"I think the way he has delivered the performance has been exceptional. What we're witnessing with him is something that doesn't come along very often. Of course, he has to be at one with the team and there has to be a total trust, and we have that."
If Red Bull can maintain its pace advantage over its rivals, there is a very decent chance Verstappen might achieve a fourth and even fifth consecutive Championship title. Horner believes he is a generational talent:
"The team has incredible strength in depth and that's what has enabled us to deliver these results. Max is a generational talent and what he's done..."
Verstappen surpassed 50 Grand Prix victories this year and has already achieved more than legendary names like Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna. His team principal added:
"To think he has surpassed 50 Grand Prix victories at just 26 years of age and when you look at the amount of victories he has had over the last three seasons, it's quite outstanding."
Verstappen might be on his way to breaking the record for the most Championships achieved by a driver. However, he hinted multiple times he does not plan to stay in F1 for too long.
The Dutchman currently needs five more Championships in order to break the record. Do you believe he can do it?
