Charles Leclerc discussed how he feels about the win chances ahead of the 2024 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on Ferrari's home soil.

We are six races into the 2024 season, and we've seen as many race winners as in the 22 Grand Prix races of the 2023 season (three).

It seemed like Red Bull got off to a superb start in the first two races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia this year, but other teams started catching up, and Lando Norris already beat Verstappen in Miami on a pure race pace.

Ferrari has been one of Red Bull's main contenders throughout the year so far, and with the upgrade they are bringing to Imola Circuit, the Italian team hopes to start fighting for race wins every single weekend.

Asked how it feels going into every weekend knowing there might be a chance to compete for the win as opposed to the last season, Leclerc said:

"I feel better. It feels better because you at least have some hope that if you do everything perfect, you actually have the chance to win."
"As I always said in the past, for me, second, fourth, fifth doesn't really matter. Only the win matters to me, and that's what motivates me."

It would be incredible for Ferrari to score a win in front of their home crowd in Italy, and Leclerc is determined to "make it work," as he added:

"When you see that there is a bit more of an opportunity, that is amazing not only for us, not only for the team but also for the fans and people watching all over the world. To see a bit more competition is always nice."
"We've seen Australia how Carlos could make it work. We've seen in the last race in Miami, Lando could make it work. And I'm very motivated to make it work here, in Monaco and everywhere else.
