Alex Albon mentioned he believes he only missed one opportunity to score points in 2023, and that has been the main differentiator between Williams and rival teams.

Williams finished seventh in the Constructors' Championship even though the team has given up on this season and has been focusing on 2024 ever since the beginning.

Williams F1 driver Alex Albon lately told the media he was proud of what his team achieved, but none of the points earned has been smooth sailing.

I'm very proud of what we've achieved at the team. I think about the races that we've scored points in. We haven't had a smooth race where we've just gone ‘Well, that was that was nice’."

As the other Williams driver, Logan Sargeant, said, Albon is the one to be credited for Williams's success. While the 27-year-old is grateful, he wished all the point scoring wasn't done by holding up cars behind him.

"I wish we had more of them, but unfortunately, a lot of them are holding up a bunch of cars behind us, which is what we've become renowned for."

Nevertheless, Albon has been satisfied with his season, and he also named it his strongest in F1 so far. The Williams driver believes the only missed opportunity to score points for him was in Melbourne - the Australian Grand Prix.

"I have to say that in reflection, I've had a lot of fun moments this year. I think it also just speaks to the fact that Melbourne was the only race where I felt like I missed an opportunity to score points."

The 27-year-old made a driver error during lap eight of the Australian Grand Prix that sent him sliding into the barrier in turn six and resulted in a DNF. Otherwise, the Williams driver believes he has extracted the maximum out of the 2023 season, as he added:

"But every other race we've done this year, when there's been a chance we've done it. I think that's been the main difference against our rivals."
